Tetrarch Light Tank Mk VII (A17) Airborne Tank - WWII British Army

The Tetrarch was a small, fast light tank armed with a 2-pounder gun. Unusually, its wheels could flex to steer the tracks, and it was light enough to be carried by the Hamilcar glider.

Tetrarchs landed with the 6th Airborne Division in Normandy on D-Day, among the first Allied tanks to go into action by air. Earlier, a small number were sent to the Soviet Union and others served in the invasion of Madagascar in 1942.

Low, compact Tetrarch with its four large road wheels per side and 2-pounder turret.
