10.5cm leFH 18/4 auf Lorraine Schlepper Self-Propelled Howitzer - WWII German
Mounting the standard German 10.5cm leFH 18 light field howitzer in an open armored compartment on the rear of the Lorraine chassis, this conversion gave panzer divisions mobile artillery that could keep up with the tanks.
After the fall of France in 1940 the Germans captured more than 300 Lorraine 37L tracked supply carriers. Major Alfred Becker's workshops in Paris rebuilt them as the Lorraine Schlepper (f), one of the most successful conversion programs of the war, producing self-propelled guns and support vehicles that fought in North Africa, Russia and Normandy.
Supplied as the hull with fighting compartment plus a separate howitzer, gun mount and rear recoil spade.
