Semovente M43 da 105/25 Bassotto Assault Gun - WWII Italian Army

The Semovente M43 da 105/25 was a wide, low assault gun armed with a 105mm howitzer, earning it the nickname Bassotto, or dachshund. It was the most powerful Italian armoured vehicle of the war.

Only a few were in Italian hands before the 1943 armistice. Most were completed for and used by German forces fighting in Italy through 1944 and 1945.

Squat, wide-hulled Bassotto assault gun with the short 105mm gun.
