Lorraine 38L Tracked Armored Carrier - WWII French Army Infantry Carrier
The Lorraine 38L was an armored personnel carrier version of the Lorraine 37L tracked supply carrier, designed to carry infantry alongside French armored units. It was one of the first fully tracked armored infantry carriers to enter service anywhere.
Only limited numbers were completed before the fall of France in 1940. Captured Lorraine chassis were later reused by Germany as the base for several self-propelled guns, a testament to how sound the design was.
A Lorraine 38L tracked carrier with its low armored hull and separate roof part, a forward-thinking French design for 1940 games.
