Fallschirmjager LG 40 Recoilless Gun with Crew - WWII German

The 7.5cm LG 40 was one of the first recoilless guns ever fielded, developed for the paratroopers so they could have artillery that could be dropped by parachute.

In March 1945, Operation Plunder sent the British and American armies across the Rhine at Wesel - and among the defenders waiting for them were the Fallschirmjager of the German 1st Parachute Army. No longer used as airborne troops, the paratroopers had become elite ground infantry, fighting in their distinctive splinter-camouflage smocks and rimless helmets to the very end.

The light LG 40 on its wheeled mount, with four crew handling shells.
