Infantry riding on the back of tanks was a common sight on every front of the war, and French soldiers rode their armor into action during the Battle of France and the liberation campaigns of 1944.

In May and June 1940 the French Army faced the German Blitzkrieg with some of the best tanks in the world - the Char B1 bis, Somua S35 and a host of innovative designs - but was undone by outdated doctrine and the speed of the German advance. French soldiers fought hard at Stonne, Gembloux, Dunkirk and along the Weygand Line before the armistice.

Six seated infantry figures posed to ride on the rear decks of tanks and vehicles.
