Afrika Korps MG34 Light Machine Gun Team - Prone - WWII North Africa
The MG34 was the heart of every German infantry section - its rate of fire was unlike anything the British Eighth Army had in 1941.
The Deutsches Afrikakorps landed in Libya in February 1941 under Erwin Rommel and fought across the Western Desert for more than two years, from the siege of Tobruk and the Gazala line to El Alamein and the final battles in Tunisia in 1943. Tropical uniforms, pith helmets, goggles and sun-bleached webbing made the Afrika Korps soldier instantly recognizable.
A prone gunner with drum magazine and a prone rifleman, plus an MG34 on its mount.
