Sd.Kfz.3 Maultier Halftrack Ambulance - WWII German Army

The Maultier, meaning mule, was a standard truck fitted with tracked rear running gear from a light tank. It was developed after the trucks of the German army bogged down in the mud of the Russian autumn.

In the ambulance role, the Maultier could evacuate wounded across ground that wheeled ambulances could not cross. It served on the Eastern Front and in other theaters from 1942.
