The LVT-3 Bushmaster was designed by Borg-Warner with its twin engines moved into the side sponsons, freeing up a large cargo bay with a rear ramp. It could carry a jeep or around two dozen troops and was rated as one of the best amtracs of the war.

The Bushmaster first saw combat at Okinawa in April 1945 with the US Marine Corps. It remained in service long after the war, and upgraded versions carried Marines ashore at Inchon in Korea.

The LVT-3 Bushmaster with its clean boxy hull and rear loading ramp, a late-war Pacific workhorse.
