Willys Jeep SAS Raider North Africa - WWII British Special Air Service
In 1942 the Special Air Service adopted the Willys jeep for deep raids behind enemy lines in the Western Desert. Stripped down and loaded with extra fuel, water and machine guns, the jeeps could travel hundreds of miles across open desert.
SAS jeep patrols drove straight onto enemy airfields at night and shot up parked aircraft with their machine guns before vanishing into the dark. These raids became one of the most famous special forces stories of the war.
The SAS raiding jeep with its desert stowage and machine guns, perfect for a desert raid scenario.
