Destroyed Sd.Kfz.9 FAMO Heavy Halftrack - WWII Battlefield Wreck

The Sd.Kfz.9, built by FAMO, was the largest German halftrack of the war. Rated as an 18-ton tractor, it towed the heaviest guns and was the main vehicle used to recover damaged tanks from the battlefield.

Even two or three of these giants were sometimes needed to pull a Tiger to safety. They served on every front, and their size made them a prized target for fighter-bombers.

A wrecked Sd.Kfz.9 heavy halftrack, an imposing piece of battlefield scenery.
