Destroyed Ford F30 LRDG Truck with Bofors 37mm Gun - WWII Battlefield Wreck

The Long Range Desert Group roamed deep behind Axis lines in North Africa, scouting, guiding raiders and watching enemy supply routes. Alongside its Chevrolet trucks the LRDG used Canadian-built Ford F30 trucks, some carrying a Bofors 37mm gun for extra firepower.

LRDG patrols could cross hundreds of miles of open desert, and their trucks were heavily loaded with fuel, water and weapons. When caught in the open by aircraft or enemy columns, a truck could be lost in moments, leaving burnt-out wrecks in the sand.

A destroyed LRDG Ford F30 truck with its mounted Bofors 37mm gun, great as desert scenery or an objective.
