The D-12 was an early Soviet light armored car of the early 1930s, built on a Ford-derived car chassis. It was a close relative of the D-8 but added a machine gun on an open mount above the fighting compartment for use against aircraft.

Built only in small numbers, the D-12 was a cavalry reconnaissance vehicle from the first generation of Soviet armor. Some were still on hand when war came, making it a characterful choice for early war and Winter War games.

The compact D-12 armored car with its boxy hull and roof machine gun mount.
