Sd.Kfz. 251/22 Halftrack with 7.5cm Pak 40 - WWII German Army Tank Hunter

Late in the war, Germany urgently needed mobile anti-tank firepower. The answer was the Sd.Kfz. 251/22, which mounted a complete 7.5cm Pak 40 anti-tank gun in the troop compartment of the Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf. D halftrack.

Conversions began in late 1944 and the vehicles served on both fronts until the end of the war. Heavily loaded and lightly protected, it nonetheless gave panzergrenadier units a gun capable of defeating most Allied tanks.

An Sd.Kfz. 251/22 Ausf. D halftrack carrying a 7.5cm Pak 40 anti-tank gun in the rear compartment.
