The Sd.Kfz. 13 was one of the first armored cars of the new German army, built on the commercial Adler Standard 6 car chassis in the early 1930s. Its open-topped body carried a crew of two and a single machine gun.

Used by reconnaissance units in Poland and France, it was soon found to have poor cross-country ability. By 1941 it had largely been withdrawn to training and security duties, replaced by purpose-built armored cars.

A compact Sd.Kfz. 13 armored car with its angular open-topped body on the Adler car chassis.
