Fallschirmjager PaK 40 Anti-Tank Gun with Crew - WWII German
The 75mm PaK 40 could knock out any Allied tank of 1945, and paratroop gun crews made the British and American armor pay dearly for every mile beyond the Rhine.
In March 1945, Operation Plunder sent the British and American armies across the Rhine at Wesel - and among the defenders waiting for them were the Fallschirmjager of the German 1st Parachute Army. No longer used as airborne troops, the paratroopers had become elite ground infantry, fighting in their distinctive splinter-camouflage smocks and rimless helmets to the very end.
A PaK 40 with shield and split trail, crewed by four paratroopers.
