Fallschirmjager Mixed Weapons Squad - WWII German Paratroopers

By 1945 paratroop squads carried a mix of everything - FG 42s, MP40s, rifles and captured weapons - giving them more firepower than almost any other German infantry.

In March 1945, Operation Plunder sent the British and American armies across the Rhine at Wesel - and among the defenders waiting for them were the Fallschirmjager of the German 1st Parachute Army. No longer used as airborne troops, the paratroopers had become elite ground infantry, fighting in their distinctive splinter-camouflage smocks and rimless helmets to the very end.

Ten paratroopers with assorted weapons in firing, advancing and prone poses.
