Panzer IV Ausf. F2 Medium Tank Long 75mm - WWII German
Facing the T-34 and KV-1 in Russia, the Germans fitted the Panzer IV with the long 7.5cm KwK 40 L/43 gun. The resulting F2 of 1942 could finally defeat any Allied tank at normal combat ranges, and British crews in the desert nicknamed it the Mark IV Special.
Only about 175 F2s were built, but they marked the turning point that made the Panzer IV a true main battle tank.
The Panzerkampfwagen IV was the only German tank to stay in production from before the war until its end. Around 8,500 were built, and it fought on every front, growing from a short-barreled infantry support tank into the backbone of the Panzer divisions.
Captures the F2 hull with tracks and the turret armed with the long 75mm gun and its ball-shaped muzzle brake.
