Version

France still fielded horse cavalry in 1940, and the cavaliers of the light cavalry divisions screened the advance into Belgium and fought delaying actions in the Ardennes and on the Meuse - often dismounting to fight as infantry.

In May and June 1940 the French Army faced the German Blitzkrieg with some of the best tanks in the world - the Char B1 bis, Somua S35 and a host of innovative designs - but was undone by outdated doctrine and the speed of the German advance. French soldiers fought hard at Stonne, Gembloux, Dunkirk and along the Weygand Line before the armistice.

Ten mounted troopers including a flag bearer, trumpeter and officer, plus ten matching dismounted cavalrymen to fight on foot. Choose the mounted or dismounted set.
