Afrika Korps 8cm Mortar Team - WWII North Africa

The 8cm schwere Granatwerfer 34 gave every infantry battalion its own indirect fire, and was feared for its accuracy.

The Deutsches Afrikakorps landed in Libya in February 1941 under Erwin Rommel and fought across the Western Desert for more than two years, from the siege of Tobruk and the Gazala line to El Alamein and the final battles in Tunisia in 1943. Tropical uniforms, pith helmets, goggles and sun-bleached webbing made the Afrika Korps soldier instantly recognizable.

An 8cm mortar on its baseplate with a loader dropping a round, a kneeling crewman and a kneeling NCO with a rifle.
