Tiger I with Zimmerit - WWII German Heavy Tank - 3D Printed Wargaming Miniature
By late 1943 the Tiger I was being delivered from the factory with a thick coating of Zimmerit — a ridged anti-magnetic paste applied to defeat infantry mines. Combined with its legendary 8.8cm gun and heavy armor, the Zimmerit-coated Tiger became the iconic image of German heavy armor in 1944.
These tanks fought in Normandy, Italy and on the Eastern Front, where heavy tank battalions were used as fire brigades to plug gaps in the line. A single well-positioned Tiger could hold up an entire enemy advance.
This miniature shows the full Zimmerit texture across the hull and turret, the 88mm gun with muzzle brake, the turret stowage bin and the interleaved road wheels and wide combat tracks.
