StuIG 33B Assault Gun - WWII German 15cm Infantry Gun - 3D Printed Wargaming Miniature
The Sturminfanteriegeschütz 33B was built for one job: street fighting. In 1942 German commanders on the Eastern Front needed a vehicle that could bring a heavy 15cm infantry gun right up to buildings and bunkers under armor protection. The answer was a StuG III chassis topped with a tall, fully enclosed casemate.
Only 24 were converted, and most were committed to the ruins of Stalingrad. The handful that survived were later reorganized and fought on with other units — making the StuIG 33B one of the rarest German armored vehicles of the war.
This miniature shows off the vehicle's huge boxy superstructure, the short-barreled 15cm gun in its armored mount, and the StuG III running gear with detailed suspension and tracks.
