M4 81mm Mortar Carrier Late Production - WWII US Army Halftrack - 3D Printed Miniature

Infantry needed fire support that could keep up with the armor. The M4 mortar carrier put an 81mm mortar in the back of a halftrack, giving armored infantry battalions their own mobile indirect fire.

Late production versions allowed the mortar to fire forward from inside the vehicle, letting crews drop rounds on the enemy within seconds of halting. Mortar carriers fought with US armored divisions across North Africa, Italy and Northwest Europe.

This model captures the halftrack's armored body, front roller bumper, detailed front wheels and track units, and the open rear compartment for the mortar crew.
