KV-85 Soviet Heavy Tank - WWII Red Army - 3D Printed Wargaming Miniature

In the summer of 1943 the Red Army had a problem: the new German Tiger and Panther could outrange and outgun every Soviet heavy tank in service. The answer, rushed into production in just a few months at Chelyabinsk, was the KV-85 — the proven KV-1S chassis mated to a brand-new cast turret mounting the powerful 85mm D-5T gun.

Only around 148 were built before the IS-2 replaced it, which makes the KV-85 one of the rarest Soviet heavies of the war. They fought through the brutal winter battles in Ukraine in 1943–44, holding the line until the next generation of Soviet heavy armor arrived.

This highly detailed miniature captures the KV-85's distinctive layered look — the broad cast turret with its commander's cupola, the long 85mm gun, the stepped engine deck with external fuel tanks, and the heavy six-wheel running gear.
